The Princess And The Frog
Call me old fashioned but Disney's return to hand drawn animation, extravagant musical numbers and fairytale adaptations is a refreshing antidote to the glut of contemporary obnoxious and hyperactive kiddie's flicks. Though the plot is a little predictable (and reminiscent but not quite up to classic Disney pics like "The jungle Book" and "The Aristocrats") the imaginative 1920's New Orleans setting and traditional Jazz soaked soundtrack and beguiling African American characterisations (which subverts traditional race roles) proves that one can deliver a winning animated tale without CGI and, now customary, stellar voice talents.
