In The Loop

This spot on British political satire has a hoot taking a swipe at the assortment of English and American generals, advisers and heads of states who are responsible for the dire current state of world relations and foreign policy. The no name ensemble (a manic PETER CAPALDI and intentionally ineffectual TOM HOLLANDER are standouts) all deliver nuanced performances and while this decidely uncinematic spoof (it has the feel of as TV mockumentary- i.e. The "Office" meets "The West Wing") may not appeal to all tastes this bitingly relevant pisstake is essential viewing.
