Shutter Island

Marty Scorsese enlists the services of his muse LeoDiCaprio ( yet again) to play a hard boiled detective who goes in search of a missing inmate from a heavily shrouded and gothic home for the criminally insane. While this potboiler has everything going for it (great cast, plenty of atmosphere) proceedings are unsubtle and overlong and the killer plot twist ,which does tie things up, comes across as gimmicky and derivative of Alan Parker's mesmerising "Angel Heart."
